A man of the land, Max Lamb Senior grew up on the Darling Downs with a heritage in farming. While he’s known as the senior Max, there were two before him, his father and grandfather. Now, there are also two more after him, his son and grandson.
Max’s grandfather was the one who instilled his work ethic.
“He worked the land on farms in Killarney. He was a wheat thrashing, chaff and lucerne cutting contractor. He would tow his machines from farm to farm. He was the one who taught me to work 24/7………..
In 1990, Max Lamb junior joined M&P as a bright-eyed apprentice, straight from school. He did a mechanical apprenticeship under Max Senior’s business partner, Peter, to learn about the business from the nuts and bolts up.
It was important to Max Senior for his son to do his time on the tools, to gain an appreciation for all aspects of the business.
He became a Director of the company in 1997 and pioneered the company’s direction in manufacturing…..
The future looks bright for M&P, who are expanding its manufacturing division to cater for the increased demand in transportable buildings. Plans are underway for M&P to increase its manufacturing output from its main branch in Diesel Drive, Paget.
